Job Title: Band 3 Therapy Support Worker
Location: Good Hope Hospital, United Kingdom
Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Negotiable)
Salary: £24,071 – £25,674 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in delivering therapy services.
  • Manage a delegated caseload with supervision, providing feedback on patient progress.
  • Perform initial screening assessments and follow referral criteria after training.
  • Conduct site visits to deliver and fit therapy equipment.
  • Support patients in therapeutic activities, such as:
    • Activities of daily living (e.g., dressing, eating).
    • Rehabilitation exercises and gait re-education.
    • Stair assessments.
  • Promote the Eat, Drink, Dress, and Move (EDDM) approach in collaboration with ward staff.
  • Ensure safe use of therapy equipment while observing personal and patient safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE-level education or equivalent, including English and Math.
  • NVQ Level 3/BTEC or equivalent qualifications (or NVQ Level 2 with relevant care experience).
  • Willingness to achieve a Care Certificate, if not already obtained.

Experience

  • Relevant therapy, health, or social care experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Broad understanding of rehabilitation goals, illness effects, and the role of therapy.

  • Ability to handle potentially upsetting clinical situations with empathy.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection in healthcare.
