Role Overview: Assistant Restaurant Manager
As an Assistant Restaurant Manager at Yakinori, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth day-to-day operations of our restaurant. You’ll work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Head Chef to create a positive, high-energy environment, inspire the front-of-house team, and ensure our guests receive exceptional dining experiences. You’ll be an ambassador for Yakinori’s culture and values while helping to manage operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve a wide range of responsibilities, with a focus on team leadership, operational management, guest experience, and business development. Here’s a breakdown of your primary duties:
1. Leadership and Team Management

Lead, motivate, and inspire the front-of-house team to consistently deliver excellent customer service.

Support the recruitment, training, and development of new team members, ensuring they are equipped to provide outstanding service.

Act as a role model of Yakinori’s values, energy, and commitment to delivering a joyful dining experience every shift.

Foster a positive and respectful work environment by maintaining high standards of conduct, teamwork, and communication.
2. Operational Support

Assist in the management of stock, ensuring efficient stock control, ordering, and storage processes.

Help with rotas, budgeting, and managing operational targets, costs, and KPIs to meet restaurant goals.

Oversee cleanliness and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
3. Guest Experience Excellence

Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction, resolving any issues promptly and professionally to ensure a positive dining experience.

Support the Restaurant Manager in the implementation of customer service strategies, enhancing both guest retention and overall guest satisfaction.

Ensure the team is consistently delivering a warm, welcoming, and efficient service to guests.
4. Financial and Administrative Management

Work with the management team to manage costs, set targets, and control expenses, all while maximizing profitability.

Assist with the budgeting process and manage financial records, keeping track of performance and ensuring cost-efficiency.

Help create and execute promotional campaigns and manage special events to boost revenue and attract more customers.
5. Business Development and Growth

Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to identify opportunities for growth, both in terms of service improvements and revenue generation.

Actively contribute to the expansion of Yakinori’s brand, ensuring it maintains a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

Assist in implementing new initiatives and changes in response to market trends, customer feedback, and internal objectives.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in the hospitality industry, ideally within a restaurant setting.

Proven leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, guide, and motivate a team to deliver excellent service.

Experience in managing day-to-day restaurant operations, including overseeing stock, managing budgets, and meeting operational targets.

A genuine passion for food, customer service, and team development.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage, inform, and influence at all levels.

Ambitious and motivated to develop within a growing brand, with a desire to make an impact in a leadership role.
Desirable Skills

A deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine or an interest in learning more about it.
