The NHS England East Intelligence & Insight Team seeks a talented Analyst to join at Band 7 Level. This role supports the East of England’s Operations Directorate by providing actionable insights derived from NHS data, enabling improvements in performance and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Insight: Apply advanced analytical methods to deliver high-quality insights. Structure problems, analyze data innovatively, and handle ambiguity and missing data effectively.
  • Communication & Reporting: Present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences, using storytelling techniques to make data actionable.
  • Project Management: Plan and execute multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Build relationships across internal and external stakeholders, influencing policy and system design through analysis.
  • Team Leadership: Support and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a numerate subject (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics) or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in statistical tools like SQL, R, Python, and Tableau.
  • Experience working with large datasets, preferably NHS-related, and applying advanced statistical techniques such as forecasting and multivariate analysis.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and make inferences from incomplete data.
