Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Do as a Care Assistant
Emotional & Practical Support
- Deliver person-centred support to individuals with complex needs
- Offer emotional encouragement and practical assistance for independent living
- Provide companionship and reassurance to reduce isolation and anxiety
Personal Care Duties
- Assist clients with hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Administer or prompt medication in line with care plans
- Support with light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
Social & Community Engagement
- Encourage participation in leisure and recreational activities
- Accompany clients to appointments, meetings, and social events
- Promote confidence and social inclusion through active community support
Advocacy & Liaison
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social workers
- Attend care reviews and provide regular updates on client wellbeing
- Work with families to ensure holistic care and sustainable outcomes
Monitoring & Documentation
- Assess emotional and physical needs to develop tailored support plans
- Maintain accurate records of services provided
- Report changes in condition or behaviour to the care management team
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to attain it)
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar care role is highly desirable
