Role Overview: Business Development Associate
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Associate to join our dynamic sales and licensing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with exciting revenue growth activities, especially in Permissions Sales, Rights Sales, Special Sales, eVendor, and licensing operations.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth day-to-day management of Permissions Sales activities and serve as a primary contact for colleagues, authors, and customers regarding queries and licensing needs. Working closely with the Permissions Manager and Rights Manager, you will support license negotiations, administrative tasks, and conference planning, contributing to the efficient operation of the Business Development team.
Key Responsibilities
Permissions Sales and Licensing

Manage and coordinate Permissions Sales activities, ensuring all licensing agreements are accurately processed and documented.

Negotiate and finalize new licenses in collaboration with copyright agencies and internal teams.

Act as the first point of contact for internal and external queries related to licensing and permissions.
Administrative and Operational Support

Assist the Rights Manager with administrative support related to Rights Sales and managing translated book copies.

Organize and plan both internal and external conferences and events, supporting smooth execution.

Develop and maintain workflows, templates, and tools to optimize business development processes.

Ensure all documentation and contracts are stored accurately and kept up-to-date.
Team Collaboration and Process Improvement

Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to facilitate licensing and sales operations.

Contribute ideas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
Communication and Customer Interaction

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with customers, colleagues, and copyright agencies.

Experience in customer-facing roles or sales support is highly desirable.
Technical and Administrative Proficiency

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new software.

Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, financial software, or Rights management platforms is advantageous.
