Job Description

Candlelight Care is currently looking for a Care and Support Worker to join our team in Wincanton, Dorset, and Sherborne, Somerset, and Gillingham, Dorset. This opportunity is for individuals currently on a Skilled Worker/Healthcare Visa, looking to switch sponsorship from another domiciliary care company.

As a Care and Support Worker, you will be expected to:

  • Provide Personal Care: Support clients with essential tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance.

  • Assist with Domestic Tasks: Help clients with housework, including cleaning, laundry, and food preparation, ensuring their living environment is safe and comfortable.

  • Administer Medication: Ensure clients take their prescribed medication on time and in the correct doses.

  • Use Mobility Aids: Help clients with mobility aids and equipment to promote their independence and safety.

  • Monitor and Report: Maintain detailed records of client progress, and report any significant changes in health or circumstances to the Registered Manager.

Qualifications and Eligibility

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: At least two years of experience in a care-based role, whether in domiciliary care, a care home, or a hospital setting. This experience does not need to be within the UK.

  • Current Sponsorship: You must already be in the UK and on a Skilled Worker Visa with another domiciliary care provider. You should be ready to switch your sponsorship to Candlelight Care.

  • Driver’s License: A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are required for this role. If you’ve been in the UK for less than 12 months, your country’s license will suffice.

  • Location: You must be willing to relocate to or be based in the Wincanton or surrounding areas.
