Glenbervie Care Home is a purpose-built facility located in Larbert, just a mile from Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Opened in December 2016, the home provides a high standard of care to 33 elderly residents (65 and over) and 26 adults (18-65). With modern, spacious rooms equipped with electric profiling beds and pressure-relieving mattresses, the home ensures a comfortable and supportive environment.
In addition to typical care home facilities, Glenbervie Care boasts unique amenities such as a bistro, pub, and training room for staff development. The home also utilizes advanced digital technology for care-planning and medication management, streamlining administrative processes and enhancing care delivery.
Job Purpose
As a Staff Nurse at Glenbervie Care Home, your role is integral in delivering high standards of care. You will be responsible for leading a care team, ensuring resident wellbeing, independence, and dignity. Your duties will focus on promoting a person-centred care environment while adhering to strict healthcare policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Exceptional Care

Ensure the highest possible standards of care by assessing residents’ needs and delivering personalized care plans.

Develop, review, and update care plans, addressing the physical, social, and psychological needs of residents.

Promote independence and respect for personal choice, empowering residents to make decisions about their care.
Medicine Management & Safety

Oversee all aspects of medicine management, ensuring medications are appropriately received, stored, and administered according to company policies and legislation.

Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines, proactively identifying and addressing risks.
Team Leadership & Staff Support

Lead and support a cohesive care team, ensuring effective collaboration and maintaining high standards of nursing care.

Guide, mentor, and support staff, fostering a positive, welcoming atmosphere for both employees and residents.

Supervise shifts to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise promptly.
Compliance & Record-Keeping

Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Participate in inspections and audits, ensuring the home’s readiness and compliance at all times.

Use digital care-planning systems to record and track resident information efficiently.
Continuous Development

Participate in ongoing professional development to ensure compliance with the NMC Code and enhance your skills.

Engage in team meetings and regular appraisals with the Home Manager to discuss progress and areas for improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications

NMC Registered Nurse with a valid registration.

Strong leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team of care staff.

Ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.

Proficient in IT systems required for care documentation and communication.

Experience in delivering nursing care in the elderly healthcare sector is highly desirable.
