Key Responsibilities

As the International Recruitment Advisor, your core responsibilities will include:

  • International Recruitment Planning: Lead the strategy and coordination of international recruitment, ensuring full compliance with NHS recruitment practices and Appendix D guidance.
  • Visa and Immigration Expertise: Provide specialist advice on UK Visa and Immigration Requirements, including navigating the points-based system and ensuring candidates meet English language proficiency tests (IELTS/OET).
  • Process Improvement: Continuously analyze and provide feedback to improve the Trust’s international recruitment processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance with NHS standards.
  • Support to Hiring Managers: Offer expert guidance to hiring managers and recruitment teams on attracting international candidates, retaining talent, and meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Development: Lead training sessions to upskill recruitment officers and hiring managers on managing international workers and adhering to UK immigration laws.
  • Research and Audits: Regularly research best practices in international recruitment and conduct audits to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
  • Representation and Policy Development: Represent the Trust at regional workforce groups and contribute to shaping policies for international recruitment.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to UKVI recruitment activities, ensuring compliance with all immigration policies and standards.
  • Candidate Communication: Manage the communication and documentation for international candidates, collaborating with recruitment agencies to maintain NHS compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate for the International Recruitment Advisor role will have the following qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in Recruitment: Knowledge and experience in managing recruitment systems, preferably within the public sector or NHS.
  • Immigration Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK Visa and Immigration policies, including the points-based system and required English language proficiency tests (IELTS/OET).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including international candidates and recruitment agencies.
  • ATS/Recruitment Systems: Experience using and managing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or recruitment software.

Desirable:

  • International Recruitment Experience: Previous experience in leading international recruitment projects or managing immigration processes within the NHS or public sector.
  • Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with NHS recruitment policies and Appendix D compliance guidelines.
