The UdeM Exemption Scholarship program aims to support international candidates by offering exemptions from tuition fees normally charged to international students. This program helps attract the best talent from around the world to one of the finest francophone research universities.

Renewal of Scholarship

The exemption scholarship is granted for the following sessions:

  • Winter 2024
  • Summer 2024
  • Fall 2024
  • Winter 2025

Eligibility

Who Can Benefit:

  • International students (except French and French-speaking Belgian students)
  • Must have received an offer of admission to a study program at UdeM (starting Fall 2020)
  • Must not be enrolled in independent study programs or short undergraduate programs (e.g., certificate, major, minor, short program, or preparatory year program)
  • Must have valid study authorizations (CAQ and study permit) for all sessions
  • Must be continuously enrolled full-time (unless an approved absence)
  • Must not benefit from another form of tuition fee exemption

Note: If any condition is not met, the scholarship may be withdrawn.

Scholarship Amount

Undergraduate Programs:

  • Level A: $458.02 per credit, $6,870.30 per session (15 credits), $13,740.60 per year (30 credits)
  • Level B: $218.28 per credit, $3,274.20 per session (15 credits), $6,548.40 per year (30 credits)

Graduate Programs – Master’s:

  • Research Programs: $336.66 per credit, $5,050.00 per session (15 credits), $15,150.00 per year (45 credits)
  • Non-research Programs: $239.75 per credit, $3,596.25 per session (15 credits), $10,788.75 per year (45 credits)

Graduate Programs – PhD:

  • $509.08 per credit, $7,636.20 per session (15 credits), $22,908.60 per year (45 credits)

Note: The scholarship amount is deducted from the tuition fees.

How to Apply

  1. Apply for Admission: Ensure you meet the application deadlines and check the admission requirements for your study programs of interest.
  2. Follow Up on Your Application: After submitting your application, monitor your Centre étudiant for updates and your admission notice. You do not need to apply separately for the UdeM Exemption Scholarship; eligibility is automatically evaluated.
  3. Receive Notice of Award: After receiving your admission offer, UdeM will inform you by email of your scholarship amount. Print and keep this document for future reference.
