Award Description
The University of Birmingham’s School of Computer Science is excited to offer two scholarships funded by DeepMind. These scholarships are available to applicants holding either a conditional or unconditional offer for the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program at the UK Edgbaston campus.

UK Scholarship
Total Value: £34,225
- UK tuition fees: £11,340
- Maintenance grant: £18,985 (paid in instalments)
- Conference funding: Up to £2,200 for an international AI/ML conference
- Equipment: £1,700 for essential purchases (e.g., suitable laptop)
International Scholarship
Total Value: £56,525
- International tuition fees: £31,410
- Maintenance grant: £19,345 (paid in instalments)
- Conference funding: Up to £2,200 for an international AI/ML conference
- Equipment: £1,700 for essential purchases (e.g., suitable laptop)
- Relocation expenses: £1,870
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Identify as female
- Demonstrate financial need to take up the offer of admission
Additionally:
- Hold a conditional/unconditional offer to study the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Birmingham
- Be ordinarily resident in the UK and classified as a UK fee payer, OR classified as an international student for fee purposes
Applications will be evaluated by a selection panel based on the eligibility criteria and any additional supporting documentation required.

- Final application deadline: Sunday, 21st July 2024.
