Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 2024 Shakira Choonara Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be between 21-35 years old.
- Be a citizen of any of the 54 African countries.
- Be in the final year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at an African university.
- Demonstrate financial need, requiring the scholarship to cover final year tuition fees.
- Have a proven track record of academic excellence, achieving 70% or higher in the current and previous years of study.
- Be studying in fields related to development, with preference for health sciences and gender studies.
- Applications are highly encouraged from young women and individuals from marginalized communities.
